This talk will take the student  upon a journey starting with the development of the larynx in utero and then following the larynx and voice throughout life. Particular areas that will be covered include: The larynx before birth, the larynx in the child, puberty, the effect of the sex hormones on the larynx, the menstrual cycle including premenstrual voice syndrome, premenopausal voice and the voice at menopause, the ageing larynx, setting back the clock.

 It is the anticipation that the student will have gained a more thorough understanding of vocal changes during the lifetime, by the end of the lecture
